I love to entertain and I have got some great easy and elegant table top decorations for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Shamrock decoupage coasters and Shamrock edge glasses, for the coaster I’ve found large shamrock images printed them on to regular paper then carefully cut them out. I bought a four-inch square of 1/8 inch thick glass for the glazier and have them sand and smooth the edges. The sheet cork was, purchased at the hardware store and I use the glass as a pattern to trace the square on the cork. Then just cut it out. Mod Podge is an all in one glue and glaze decoupage medium. Spread a generous amount on to the cork. Don’t worry this dries clear. Set your shamrock in place, look good there and then brush Mod Podge over the Shamrock covering completely. Center your glass square over the Mod Podge coated court even up the sides and press down firmly. Place the towel on top of the glass then I have the object like a breakable and then of days, the Mod Podge will have dried clear and you’ll have a great looking holiday coaster. Use a smooth side of glass for the Shamrock edge to glass. I have this little Shamrock image to use a pattern to make a stencil on adhesive back clear venal or you could use contact paper. Place the shamrock on the paper backing, keeping in mind that you’ll need a bad and inch porter around the image. Trace around the image and carefully cut it out. And there we go. Put some plastic down on your work surface, which needs to be in a well-ventilated area and clean the glass with glass cleaner. Peel off the paper backing of your stencil and position it on the glass a good inch or so below the top rim. Before you use the Etch cream read the package directions carefully. This cream has acid in it so to be safe use rubber gloves and safety goggles. I use an old clean paintbrush tool and apply a generous amount of the Etch cream inside the stencil design. Then you’ll leave the glass alone with the cream on it for the time indicated on the package directions. This cream took about five minutes to fully, activate. With your rubber, gloves still on rinse of the cream in clean water using a cloth and be sure to wash it dish detergent before anyone drinks from it. Peel off your stencil which you can reuse until it’s no longer sticky on the back and that’s how to make a beautiful St. Patrick’s Day glass and coaster dream set, at the center of your holiday table create a lovely green glass floating flower and candle display. Into this square cube fuzz, I’m pouring a bed of tumbled emerald green glass. Tumbled so the edges are safe, I’ll add water which is going to magnify the glass and make it look like jewels. Then float a white camellia on top or a gardenia will be a wonderful fragrant choice as well. As a companion to the flower display, I’ve added green glass to a rectangular glass. Filled it with water and then a simple white floating candle, this holiday display is easy, elegant and we’ll look beautiful on any same Patrick’s Day table.
