Corned Beef and Cabbage with Larry Prep Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 3 hours Ingredients 1 package corned beef 1 cabbage Spice packet or mixed spices Most corned beef comes if you’re getting a brisket which this is. It comes with a spice packet. If you do not have the spice packet, all you’re doing is putting together a table spoon of pepper corn. This is black pepper corn but you can use any pepper corn. I prefer mixed. This is a garlic flakes but you can use any garlic source. This could use 1 teaspoon of the garlic flakes to 1 table spoon of the black pepper and 3 bay leaves. I’ll just open this packet; that’s the spice packet that comes with it. You are going to cook it with the fat side to the heat source. So this will be down in the pot. So we are going to cook this for 3 hours. We are going to simmer it for 3 hours with the spice packet on top as I said this is simply mixed pepper corn, bay leaves, garlic. We are going to fill it up so that it is over the meet. I’m turning it up high to get the water to boil. Once the water is boiling, I’ll turn it down to a simmer. Now that the corned beef has reached the rapid boil, we will turn it down so that’s a perfect simmer. 2 hours on the timer. 2 hours later So we are going to add the cabbage because now have been almost 2 hours. Cut the cabbage, I said 4 but let’s take the larger pieces and cut that. We will now keep it at a very low simmer. 45 minutes later It’s now been 45 minutes. The cabbage is cooked. We could take that out and here is the corned beef which as you see is even as I take it out, it’s falling apart. And this is an extremely tender piece that literally falls apart.
