Elad: Hi, my name is Elad. Gabriel: My name is Gabriel. We have a company called Bar Lab. Elad: We’ve been mixing cocktails in Miami Beach for over a decade. Gabriel: Miami Beach has a cocktail culture of its own. Elad: And we are to show you what it’s all about. Gabriel: This is Miami Beach cocktail culture. What do you got for us Elad? Elad: I got you the old Cuban, some fresh mint, bitters, simple syrup, aged rum, champagne. Gabriel: Wow. Elad: Super refreshing cocktail. Gabriel: Wow very Miami like but I got a Bar Lab twist on this time. I’m going to use mangoes, beautiful mangoes here. Elad: In the meantime, I’m going to tell you a little bit about the old Cuban. The old Cuban is not actually old cocktail. It got created four years ago by the cocktail grower Audrey Saunders out of the club in New York City, amazing, refreshing cocktail and I’m very excited to see what’s your twist, the Bar Lab twist is going to be. Gabriel: It’s very simple. We’re going to keep it -- we’re going to do a little twist but we’ll also going to keep it traditional. We’ve got some mangoes, a couple of mint leaves and then we’re going to do a little bit of lime juice. Elad: I can smell the mint from here. Gabriel: That’s beautiful. Elad: Excellent. Gabriel: Simple syrup, bitters and aged rum of course about two ounces. Elad: Two ounce. Gabriel: We can add a little bit more, who cares. A little bit of ice. Elad: I think mango is the super, super Miami fruit now? Gabriel: Oh yeah. Elad: Shake it baby. Nice. Gabriel: We’re going to serve this in a traditional cocktail glass. Elad: Beautiful. Gabriel: Now I top here with champagne. So I’ll garnish this with a couple slice of mango. Elad: Old Cuban and not so old Cuban. Gabriel: Well, the old part of Miami Beach cocktail culture. Elad: Salute! Gabriel: Yes.
