Male Speaker: Will run into problems, so we will ease the breast other way, we will find the corner of his mouth and then push straight towards the roof of his mouth and if it works the milk will come shooting up the tube like that and then he will start to suck. Female Speaker: Here, we go. Yeah, all that -- now Male Speaker: Right, so babies tend to fall asleep at the breast when the flow of milk slows down and as you see he is getting milk, you can see that pause in the chin there. So, once you know that you know when the baby is getting milk, but you also know when the baby is not getting milk and again even though he is trying to close his eyes doesn’t mean that he is not getting milk but if he shows that pausing type of suck and then keeps drinking you know even with his eyes closed, it doesn’t matter that much, he is still drinking. He tends to suck up his lip there. Female Speaker: That’s why we had a little bit of pain I think because he is some not as quite as open as see he could be. Male Speaker: Right, so if you are perfect, he would actually be more like this. So, chin in the breast not the nose covering more of areola with his lower lip and his upper lip and so you know we encourage this method of supplementation and luckily he was Dr Wideman who suggested this and Dr Wideman is on track with this because a lot of doctors noshing has a little confusion. Well, there is, you know babies are dumb, we know. If they go to the breast and they are not getting good flow and then they can get bottled and they get good flow that’s figured our along this important that hunger comes first, as you know, if milk starts coming out but too low, there is something is happening, so I mean upper side of his mouth, there is something is happening, I mean at the side of his mouth there is something happing just little bit, so I’m just filled with a little bit. But that pause in the chin also tells you if he is getting milk, so just because the tube is there and he is sucking doesn’t mean he is getting the milk, if you don’t see those pausing times of suck, then its likely that his the flow was either he is not latched on properly or the tube is not well placed or both and getting the good latch is just as important here as it is if you are supplementing because the more the better the latch the less he will need it, the better the latch, easier just to use this little gadget and the better the latch, assume he will be able to be get little bit but I can promise you he will but if you do it this way where you feel the baby on one side, until he doesn’t drink anymore, feed the baby on the second side until he doesn’t drink anymore and as he gets more milk from you, then he will take less from here and its automatic. You don’t have to say well it gives beautifully when I have given too, how its the feeding and so doesn’t come down to – the feeding will let me not work and just you know we are trying to make this as untraumatic as possible for both for mother and baby because I know that this isn’t always easy to use but I think that you know there is a lot more to breast feeding like just the milk and I think that this way the baby will lean on the breasts and hopefully will be able to get rid of this. There are chances of getting rid of this and much better if you do this and if he gets a bottle or a cup or a finger feeding because he is still on the breasts and he is still getting milk even though, okay.
