How to Get Your Children to Exercise Essential information from Fine Living. If you get your child involved in a physical activity when they are young it becomes part of their lifestyle. You know go on walks with your child. Take the stairs whenever you can. If you work out at home, invite your child to exercise with you. Kids make great weights. I mean be creative. Kids love games. Experiment with different obstacles courses. With hula-hoops you can lie them down on the ground and hop through them, run through them. It’s really important for kids to learn basic skills when they’re young. And it gives them confidence. Kids by the age of five are probably ready to try out organized sports. When you go to the games, be enthusiastic. When a child is young they feel they can do anything. Show them exercise is fun. They enjoy it, it makes them feel good.
