How to Get the Most Out of Different Types of Coupons Christie Hardcastle: On behalf of tvlesson.com I’m Christie Hardcastle a shopping specialist with big fat piggy bank so let’s talk a little bit about the different types of coupons that are available and there really are many different types of coupons most coupons that you’re going to encounter are going to be manufacture coupons. That’s one type of coupon another type of coupon that you’re going to find is stored coupons so stored coupons is now not the manufacture offering the incentive but the store offering the incentive. So essentially it’s a way for the store to put the item on sale. However think of it this way. If the store decides to put her product on sale that’s regularly prized at $2 would say and they – fo ra dollar 50 then everyone who purchases that item is going to get that price. However if they just put a coupon out for the item 50 cents off then maybe 1 or 2 out of every 10 people let’s say well actually have that store coupon so its sort of like a sale price just for some people its like if you were in the know and you kind of know about the coupon the items on sale for you and everybody else is paying full price into their subsidizing sale price. You also might here about coupons that are found in your newspaper so inserts newspaper insert coupons you might also hear something referred to as a blinkie. Okay so what’s a blinie? Sure you’ve gone through your grocery store and seen little tiny machines with coupons sticking out of them put out by different companies. Those are essentially blinkie coupons you just pull them right out and there you go. We also have what we call tear pads so tear pads are coupons maybe at yoru grocery store you might see a display for something and it might have a pad of coupons attached to it just tear one right off that’s a tear pad and those are usually going to be manufactured coupons not always since stores will offer those as well. You also have coupons that are actually called a peewee so its something at that’s attached to the item and just going to peel it right off the item so those are some of the major types of coupons that you’re going to encounter when you’re out there searching for items or looking for different types of coupons.
