Learn the basics of flair bartending with expert bartender Mo Harris - How to Toss a Shaker Tin and Combine with a Backhand Pour
Moe Harris: Hi! Guys. My name is Moe Harris and I'm here at the Professional Bartending School in Arlington, Virginia. And today I'm going to show you a really basic trick, that's really effective, that people are going to love and hopefully it's going to increase your tips. All you're going to do is first you actually have to get this done. This is your basic tin. You're going to flip it towards the outside and hopefully it's going to wind up in this hand with one flip. That's all it is. One flip and one rotation, one flip that I just slipped up on. Now, were going to do the same thing. So, were going to add one more flip. It's just going to be basic, 1-2. This is 1 and this is 1-2. You want to practice this about a million times before you actually do it in front of people. All you're going to do is pour your desired amount of alcohol in your tin, usually about one ounce will do. You're going to do the same thing and don't change the thing, the water, the liquid, the vodka, whatever you got in there, is going to stay naturally right in the tin and you pour that right into your glass and you fill it with juice and people are amazed and hopefully you're going to be amazed by the tip. Now, that you know a couple of my point techniques, let me put those two things together and show you how it could actually work in some working flair.
