The travel hot spots this month Washington D.C. of course because we are a heart beat away from the 56th Presidential Inauguration. Four million people are expecting to converge on D.C. just wearing a Barack Obama and well most everything has been sold out there for months. Luz Montez: Well stick with Trip on a Deal because there are still a few opportunities to attend this historic event. John Palacio: Now the first challenge, find a vest. Check out Expedia’s inaugural travel page, they list hotels outside the D.C. area but close to the natural lines and who knows there maybe as you know closet still available somewhere. Luz Montez: Still desperate for a place to stay? AirBedandBreakfast.com has a page dedicated to D.C. homeowners willing to rent on a bed to an Obama maniac. We saw prices as low as $55 a night. John Palacio: Hey you might- you know find a new friend. If you fell lucky, the inaugural committee will fly ten donors to Washington D.C. put them up on a hotel and give them seats to the swearing in. All you have to do to get on the list make a donation of at least $5. Luz Montez: Amazing! Also, it’s not illegal to sell tickets. Tickets for the main event and surrounding galas are popping up on eBay in Washington D.C.’s Craig list. We saw some for as low as $300 but beware of counterfeits. John Palacio: Now, what do you do when you get there? Most of the events are by ticket only but the Pennsylvania Avenue Parade, that’s free. About.com offers a good map of the route and get there early because you need to be on curve side. Luz Montez: So one thing to keep on mind before you go if the weathers really they may move the entire affair inside like they did in Parade and Inauguration. John Palacio: At that point TV coverage might be the best bet. Luz Montez: Looking ahead into 2009, Detroit free passes made their list on this year’s hot destination. Ready?
