Dave: My name is Dave. I'm from Calgary. Just wondering, is it possible to brush your teeth too much? Candice Zemnick: Absolutely Dave. Unfortunately, even though you might be really good with your oral hygiene, you might be too overzealous, so you want to make sure that you're not using an abrasive toothbrush for too long, that means no longer than two minutes. You shouldn't be using it aggressively. You should however be doing this after each meal, that is fine to use the toothbrush at that time but certainly, not for a prolonged period of time because that will wear away at your enamel and at your soft gum tissue, so you want to try to avoid that.
