Beth: Hi! I’m Beth from Bradenton Florida and I was just wondering how to get my boss understand that I really don’t want to socialized outside of the office. Patrick Rowan: Thanks for the question Beth, you know when someone wants to socialized with you I think my first question is why don’t you want to socialized with them. Often they’re just looking for a friend and maybe this person really does want to be friends with you. Also it maybe good for your carrier if you work socializing with the boss, but if you really don’t want to do that you may have a very good reason. Do you think it’s unfair to your colleagues, do you not want to take the time away from your family and your friends to socialized with someone new. If either this are the answer or if you have another very good answer then you can sit down with your boss and tell them honestly how you feel about that.
