Host: What kinds are reaction are common in a preschooler after a school shooting? Dr. Hayley Sherwood: A preschooler may react in a number of ways to a school shooting including facial expressions of fear, clinging to a parent or a caregiver, crying or screaming, whimpering or trembling, moving aimlessly, becoming immobile or regressing to behaviors typical of very young children such as bed wetting, thumb sucking or being afraid of the dark.
