Vanessa: Hi! I’m Vanessa from Los Angeles, California and I’m 50 years old. My question is about MSG Monosodium Glutamate. I need to know the difference between MSG and the natural Sodium Glutamate and how thus MSG harms the body of long term usage? Daniel Sullivan: MSG is a food additives that used in many things Chinese food in particular and some people are certainly sensitive to it whether you will have a reaction its generally consist of flushing, sweating, nausea, headache and sometimes it chest tight and that’s the difficulty of breathing. Glutamate or Glutamic acid is the naturally occurring form which is found in many foods and it’s really chemically not different from MSG, as far as known there are no longer adverse effects from using MSG.
