How a Naturopath Doctor Can Help with HPV As a naturopath, we do choose to treat abnormal PAPs differently than the conventional treatment for abnormal PAPs. We take a little bit more of a pro-active approach and help with the patient facilitate their own healing process. We do that through boosting the immune system to help clear any HPV virus that might be there, as well as using herbal suppositories to treat the cervix directly and heal the tissue. If a PAP continues to be abnormal then there is a little bit more of an aggressive treatment that we can take called an escharotic treatment, that again only focuses on abnormally changing cells. You reduce your likelihood of creating scar tissue on the cervix like you would with a week or cryosurgery or a cone biopsy. Those are all in-office procedures, very good success rate with treating persistent low-grade PAPs to even persistent high-grade PAPs.
