Head and Neck Cancer Warning Signs The warning signs of head and neck cancer are extremely important to understand because they are often the first sign that something serious might be going on. Most head and neck cancers, when they are diagnosed at an early stage, are very, very easily treatable and are treated with effectiveness and minimum morbidity. However, when cancer has progressed to an advanced stage, they are extremely difficult to treat and they often carry with them extreme morbidity with their treatments. Any time you have a mouth sore or a growth or a burning feeling or a pain in your mouth that won’t go away, that needs to again be pointed out to your primary physician. Any lumps or bumps in your neck, any swellings that seem to have continued to get bigger or have not gone away need to be reported and most importantly, don’t ever think that something is not worth reporting because any lump or bump is abnormal and must be reported to your physician.
