Green Celebs for Earth Day Some celebrities love to follow trends and some are trendsetters. When it comes to being eco-friendly, Hollywood stars are leading the way proving to everyone that it can be easy being green. Leonardo DiCaprio has been one of the most outspoken supporters of the green movement for almost 10 years. Leo’s put up the forefront raising awareness and documentaries and even his own foundation. Of course he drives a prius but did you know he flashes a $3,200.00 eco-friendly toilet? Ed Begley is another eco celeb who practices what he preaches, decomposed garbage, runs his home on solar and thermo-power and even rode to the academy awards on his bike. Alicia Silverstone shows her love for planet earth and its inhabitants by being a strict vegan. That means no food from any animal source and you will never see her on the red carpet wearing fur or leather. She also lived in a solar paneled home with four rescue dogs in an organic veggie garden. Willie Nelson’s tour busses even go on green. He powers it using bio-diesel fuel. Adrian Grenier not only drives a prius, he replaced the insulation in his Brooklyn home with recycled denim, a much greener alternative and also installed solar panel. He’s also part of a TV show called Alter Eco which follows a green team that helps both celebrities and regular people with more eco-friendly. And that’s really what it is all about. You don’t have to be a celebrity spending green to make your world a little greener. Hey, if McDreamy can recycle and so can you.
