Host: When it comes to wrapping presents, it’s not just about picking pretty paper. It’s about making your gift look its best. We’re going to show you some great tips and techniques for wrapping presents so they look beautiful. We’re going to show you how to wrap a present so it looks great every time. When you have a gorgeous wrap with a great big image like this, you want to make sure you get it on the front of the box. Too many times, you end up with your favorite part of the wrap around on the side and that’s no fun. To make sure the bird winds up on the front of the box, we’re going to roll out the wrap and then place the box on the wrong side of the paper. Then we’re going to sneak a peek. Where is that bird? Without moving the paper, I’m going to hold the box back down and now I’m ready to cut my paper. To cut your paper to the right width, you want to make sure you have enough of on each end to go about ¾ of the way up the side of the box. So just test it and you’ll measure the same amount on the other side of the box before you cut. We’re going to start by snipping just a tiny bit at the very end on this side. Then we’re going to flip the paper over and crease along that line. Flip the paper back over and then you’ve got a guideline to cut a straight line. Now, that we’ve cut the paper, we’re ready to wrap our gift. And now, we’re ready to fold the paper up over the back of the box. So we’re going to fold it up and then there’s a little bit of an edge right over the edge of the box. We want to tuck that under to make a nice tidy seam and then take the piece that’s under the box and tuck it up under that little seamed edge And now, we’re going to put just one little piece of tape right in the middle. Now, we’re ready to fold up the ends of the box so we’ll start by flipping the top edge down up against the box. Now, we’re going to fold the two flaps in on either side of the end. Press down and make this into a little triangle, crease it and then fold it in. And then we’re going to make another nice little seam along the long edge here. Now, we’ll flip that edge up and we’re going to use one small piece of tape right in the center and here’s our finished package and you can see the bird wound up in the right spot. To keep showing him off, we put the bow off center so we don’t cover him up and we used sheer ribbon and that way, the pattern shows through the ribbon. They’re gorgeous.
