Jay Manuel: Hey I’m Jay with style her famous. Katie Holmes likes to keep her face all natural. I’m going to show you how she keeps it simple yet adds that flare of color. Katie always looks natural and beautiful so one thing to remember is you don’t want to wear a heavy foundation or powder so I’m using a tinted moisturizer. First of all your skin’s very even, anyway all I’m going to do is use just a small amount of foundation on your skin so it allows your own little freckles to come popping through and you won’t look like you’re wearing like a paste of mask Now that we’ve got your foundation on and we could still your pretty freckles, I’m just using a little but of bronzer, not much because again, I want you to look natural but not look like you’re laying out in the sun baking. Now notice I’m taking a little bronzer on your eyelids, it just brings you a little more depth then when we use your eye, when we use the eye shadow, we’re going to do the same thing, we’re going to go across the entire lid and pull it out. So what we’re going to do is just take this natural brown shadow right here and close your eye. All I’m doing is just taking it, sweeping it across your lid. Christina Cha: Okay. Jay Manuel: And I’m fading it up towards your eyebrow. Now if you feel like you can change your shape off if you want to kind of take it more out instead of round. You can easily do that because the shadow is so soft and natural. Christina Cha: Okay. Jay Manuel: And remember that’s the thing that Katie does so well. She never does a harsh eye shadow. Notice how here, it looks really soft, the way I’ve applied it. Christina Cha: Yeah. Jay Manuel: But it actually looks a little darker here. Christina Cha: Yeah. Jay Manuel: The trick, especially with anyone with a flat lid, regardless if you’re aging or not, is to put more of the eye shadow on the inner corner underneath the head of the brow and what that actually does is it creates the illusion of bone structure. Now that same natural brown eye shadow that you used on top of your lids. I’m just smudging a little below your lids. Look up again. The reason I’m doing that is you were talking about, you wanted to, kind of a wider eye of a look but I didn’t want to do a liner because a liner is only going to look fake and draw attention to your eyes as is you’ve got makeup on. We were talking about how Katie does that bright cheeks so well. What I’m going to do is just take a little bit of an iridescent blush and use it on your cheeks. It actually reflects light and it looks like it has a more youthful glow. Then after you use the eye dust and blush, you can go and take a more pink color. Smile again and layer that on top. Then if iridescent pokes through and you have the color and more shine. Okay, so now when it comes to lips. We we’re talking about how Katie does that settle red lip and you’ve got beautiful full lips so I’m going to do a two step lip, okay? Number 1, I’m going to start with a natural deep, kind of neutral pink color which is already the color that your lips are. The reason I’m starting with the pink first is it’s just going to bring natural flesh tone to the lip and just block together and then because you’ve got yellow under tones, I’m not going to use that red that Katie wears because I think it’s going to be harsh on you. What I’m actually going to do is something that’s a little more orangey. So there you go. Now that we’ve got that orangey color that compliment your skin tone on top of the natural pink, we’ve got your own version of that settle red then you’re done. Remember that facial glow comes from within but with Katie’s look, you can always add a little rose to the cheeks.
