Okay gambling girls, are you ready to try your luck at the casino. Well, I’m here to teach you the tricks of the trade in blackjack and roulette, two of the most popular casino games. We’ll start with blackjack, a game of cards. The name of the game is counting to 21. First, it’s important to understand that you’re always playing against the dealer. You start out each hand with two cards. Numbered cards are worth their value, face cards are worth 10, aces are worth either 1 or 11, you decide. Remember, you’re counting cards to equal 21 without going over. A perfect hand is a face card and an ace. It’s a true blackjack or a natural. If the dealer is showing 13, he has to hit on his own hand. If he’s showing 16, he can stand. You can take as many cards as you want to get to 21, whoever is closest without going over wins. If the player and the dealer tie, it’s called a push. No money is exchanged in this case. Are you ready to move on to roulette? Roulette is a game of probability giving a different twist on gambling. The basics, the wheel spins in one direction while the ball spins in the opposite direction. The ball falls into one of 38 numbered slots. The trick is to predict which one. So let’s talk betting. There are two types of bets in roulette. An inside bet and an outside bet. When you place an inside bet, you select the exact slot of where you think the ball will fall. When you place an outside bet, you select a group of slots. For example, all of the even numbers or all of the odd numbers. Since you’re betting on a group of numbers with an outside bet, the chance of winning is higher but the payout is lower. I know, it’s a lot to remember. But bring some girlfriends with you and the gambling tables will be a lot less intimidating. Thanks for watching, I’m Stephanie Oswald, we’ll see you next time.
