How to Build a Green Screen Now not all of us have access to prorated equipment. If that doesn’t necessarily mean that we can't use a green screen. This time were going to take a look at how to build our very own green screen with use of four simple steps. First off were going to take a look at gathering the right materials and then were going to take a look at measuring and cutting our PVC pipe. This is though its kind of lead to building our frame for our screen and lastly was going to attach the screen to that frame. I'm Tom Skowronski and this is how to build a green screen. Now the first step to this process is to make sure you have the right materials. First off, we’ve got two ten foot long PVC pipes that were going to cut in the middle. Then were going to line our screen wall. This is going to help build our frame so we could have a movable green screen that we can take outdoors or use indoor. Now some other materials, you’re going to need to pull this off effect. Our tape measures, you can measure the actually PVC pipe correctly. You’ll need a saw so you can saw it in half and you’re going to also need some duct tapes. So you can help tape up your screen. Lastly, you’re going to need to make sure that you buy some elbows and some cap links for you’re actual PVC pipe to help create the frame. The next step in this process is to make sure that you measure and cut your materials accurately. Now you can use whatever dimensions you want but for us. We have a rectangle screen, so we want with 6 by 4. Now the most accurate way to measure your PVC pipe is what the help of an assistant. You’re going to have them hold the PVC pipes together while you measure it with the tape. If you don’t have an assistant, one of the best ways to go about this is to actually use duct tape and tape the edges of your PVC pipe together but when you saw through it. You can basically killing two birds at one stone. Now next stop this is the fun part. This where we to actually cut through the actual markers we made on our PVC pipes and what we did to be safe is use a cardboard box to pop our PVC pipe on top off. And then we tape down the sides of our PVC pipes on the table so they don’t move anywhere. This going to be the safest thing we could do when were cutting through those pipes. Now after cutting and measuring our pieces were left with 2 six-foot pieces of PVC pipe and 2/4 of pieces of PVC pipe. So we are now ready to move on to the next step and build our frame. Now another thing you could do is you can always use your duct tape to help build the support for beam. This can help your frame be a lot more sturdy. Now the last step to this process is to make sure we attach our cloth to that frame we built. Now how we will pull off this effect is by using a partner to help assist us in taping down each corner of the green screen. Now what we did is make sure we want back and stretch out that green screen and it was even more duct tape to tape it down. The last thing we did is check for errors. We went back and make sure we have no ripples or anything that we miss originally. Now that we’ve attached our frame to the screen and reinforced the back of the screen with some duct tape, we have a very useful and mobile screen that we can use indoors and outdoors.
