Host: How often should I exercise my newly adopted puppy? Kevin Simpson: You should exercise your newly adopted puppy daily but you want to be careful that you'd not over exert them especially while they're still growing. An example of over exerting a young puppy would be taking them jogging where they have high impact percussion on their joints from running over a long period of time of forced run. You want to give the puppy a chance to properly grow and develop without that additional strain on their joints but you want to be certain to get them out everyday. And give them an opportunity to get the proper exercise and you may find that by taking them for walks or playing with them whether it’s a tag of war game or if they're playing with another dog or playing a little light game of fetch here and there, there is a lot of different sources for exercise.
