Confashional What I wore TV? Jessica Schroeder One of my favorite shows in TV right now is Mad Men because it’s a great costuming whether it’s Betty, or Peggy or Joan or Trudy I think there’s ways to take their signature styles and make them modern and wear then now. So today I want to talk a little bit about how I have taken that 60’s Mad Men look and put it into my own wardrobe and how you can put it into yours to. So with Peggy there’s this mix and match separates career girl on the move and then we have Joan who always wears one dark color with a body skinning silhouette and then a signature accessory and then Betty is the classic American housewife who never has a hair out of place and then there’s Trudy, she’s a smaller character but she always has great make up and accessories and hats. So today I’m going to show you a few ways that you incorporate those trends into your own wardrobe. So think about which character appeals to you most. Jessica Schroeder Alright so let’s talk a little bit about what I’m wearing and why it has that vintage retro inspired feel to it. Let’s start with my vintage dress, I pick this is up at a thrift store. I think it is probably late 50’s early 60’s and then I’m pairing it with so navy hose and bright purple shoes to give it a little kick. Another vintage piece I’m wearing these gloves came from a thrift store again, super cheap but nice fun. And then I’m also wearing a vintage belt but the rest of my outfit is modern. My coat my tights and my shoes are all new pieces so you don’t necessarily need head to toe thrift store or vintage store look so you have that 60s feeling to your outfit. So if you want to take the same feeling and incorporate it into your everyday life here’s some ideas for the work place why not try some stockings that have the seam at the back or a highway or highway sit skirt that looks very, very 60s. If you are going out on a time of your girlfriend try wearing a lot of big costume jewelry or maybe you want to do a cat eye with your makeup. Another great thing if your just going out and about you are going to be walking around the town a vintage coat is a great solution because their inexpensive generally, their really high quality and they look good with everything from jeans to a cocktail dress.
