Lucy McCausland: Hi!I am Lucy McCausland from a.k.a Spot. We are a dog store in Arlington, Virginia. We are here today to talk about how to dress your dog for Halloween. Right now, we are going to discuss how to dress your little dog, your small dog for Halloween, and I am here with Jessica and we have Deedee, Chance, and Johnamo helping us out today. Some dogs just love to get dressed up and little dogs typically get it from the very beginning. They get dog coats. They get sweaters etc. So as you can see, we have got Johnamo in the lady bug, we have got Chance in the French maid, and we have got Deedee in crocodile. The best way to get your dog fitted for a Halloween outfit is to take the dog with you to the store and try the different costumes on. That way you can ensure the proper fit. Typically, Halloween costume is measured jut like a dog coat, and that is in inches or centimeters, and it is from the collar to the top of the tail, so you get the idea. The one thing you want to make sure is that when the dog is in the outfit, the dog is not constricted in any way, so it does not choke. It cant get anything off the costume. It can’t eat and choke around something or swallow something poisonous. You also want to make sure that the dog can move freely and you want to use the same item that you use on a normal walk with your dog for control such as a harness, the collars, or lead. So once you get an idea, which costume you like the best and which one fits, go ahead and try it on and then put your regular harness or collar on in the lead and give it a dry run around a block or so. You need to make sure that the dog can perform all the bodily functions like drink and pee et cetera, and after that you should just have fun with your dog and enjoy the event. So as Deedee says, this is how to dress a small dog for Halloween. Thanks.
