Cinnamon Apple Cranberry Sauce Male: The second most requested Thanksgiving recipe on FoodNetwork.com is Cranberry Sauce. Male: What I'm going to show you today, why making this simple cinnamon apple cranberry sauce is going to take a stress out of your life. I got me a nice sizes sauce pan here. I'm going to add about two cups of cranberry juice. Now these cranberries are the star of the show. I'm going to use some dried once they're sweetened so this is going to add a nice little sweetness and the tartness. I'm just dropping them right in the pan, a crack of cinnamon stick. Now if you can use cinnamon powder, this already done go ahead and use about a teaspoon, I'm just using one stick. And actually I'm going to pick out the big pieces because I want to be able to pick this out once it gets all that flavor going through out the juice, just let that set. Of course you need some sugar. I'm going to go to a cup of sugar and there you have it so far. We got cranberries, we got cranberry juice, we got sugar and we got cinnamon. I'm going to let this go on high because I want to bring this to a boil and that’s it. I got me two apples and I'm going to dice these apples out to a small size because I wanted it to break down. The apples are done, right into the pan. That’s for our cinnamon stick. They're so potent and as good as this thing so fast, I can’t believe it and this is almost done. You might think I'm joking but it really is, this is the test. Got to pour me a cranberry, now I don’t suggest you stick in your finger and get it or you can come up one up short. So pull out the cranberry, test it off, they're ready. They don’t need to get mushy they're just what I want them to be. I'm going to take my all and get some of this juice out. And we can give it a little bit of those cranberries in, they don’t fill that. We’re looking for about eight ounces of this juice and they’ve got me two teaspoons of cornstarch. And this is going to be my thickening agent to really tighten this all. And I want to have this separates, so I don’t have lumps of cornstarch on my pan. So I like to pull a little of that hot juice off to the side break down that cornstarch and then we’re going to feed them right back into the pan. So here we go back in the pan and make sure you got to stir this because this is really going to thicken it up. And give it that jelly look. Now you see as I'm pouring it in it actually starts to thicken up. And there you have it, right now and this one is the simplest cranberry recipe you ever had, you got some problems. And we’re just going to take this out right now. Put it in this bowl, chill it down and you’re going to see just what it looks like when it’s all cool and done with. That should be nice and cold right about now because it takes about good 20 to 30 minutes to get a chill on it and take the heat of off it. If you want to do it the night before feel free to do that and make it easy on yourself, it’s cranberry sauce. Now I want to get those cinnamon sticks out. Because I said as simple but I don’t want them to be dangerous. Now just put this in the serving dish. Now this is a pretty bowl we love but it needs some good taste.
