SOT ANDREA SWANK Parent"To put it most simply, what is the worst thing that would happen if you gave the teachers everything that they wanted? Music instruction, a secure contract, fair pay, air-conditioning in schools, playgrounds for underdeveloped neighborhoods. So I was on the side of the teachers. I understand the inconvenience that it is, but a strike is a serious thing. And it was taken very responsibly by the teachers. And there was a great air of sadness on the Friday before the strike here at this school."*"Nobody wanted this strike, but I understand how important it was, and I see how hard these teachers work."* So I did come firmly on the side of the teachers."Nicole Frey-CPS parent"My daughter, especially, wanted to be back and school. And she couldn't wait to be back in school.""I understand both sides, but I just feel taking the kids out of school-I feel like the kids should just be in school, regardless.""I think it's the first day all over again today."(****END****) ANCHOR VOICE: -------------------------VIDEO PRODUCER: Pete---------------------------VIDEO SOURCE: AP-----------------------VIDEO APPROVAL: ----------------------------VIDEO RESTRICTIONS: none----------------------------------MARKET EMBARGO (S): none
