Cattrall Gets Candid About Sex Ben Lyons: Congratulations on this reprising a role which actors and actresses don't often get the chance to do an amazing experience. Do you feel this deep connection to the character where it’s not really reprising and getting back into their skin but it’s almost like a second home while you're being in the set? Kim Cattrall: Well it is actually a second skin after 14 years of playing her and that’s so wonderful to be able to do that. Because she’s just got in reached as she’s really got in deeper and richer and I think the fans know what they're getting but there’s always a little bit of a twist for Samantha. There’s always a little something that’s unexpected and outrageous. Ben Lyons: Why can’t more women that I meet in my everyday act like Samantha, if you look at the world through Samantha’s eyes. Kim Cattrall: You know Samantha doesn’t live in the real world. She lives in the Sex in the City world. Ben Lyons: Is that what you're like in your everyday dating life? Kim Cattrall: Well I think there are some crossroads there definitely. I don't think I'm as outrageous, I don't think I’ll try anything. Unlike Samantha has done, I do have certain boundaries where you know Samantha would go and I definitely can’t go because of who I am. But the great freedom of playing someone who does not have judgment, who does not have boundaries and she also talks about things, so openly that most of us frightened off. In this movie you know its menopause. And people didn't—menopause for many years didn't even have a name it was so scary. It used to be called the change and now here’s a woman going through it openly. And so— Ben Lyons: You're like. You're like the only woman in the planet who can make menopause really sexy. You guys have job well done. Okay, and that’s tremendous. Kim Cattrall: Well you know it was a challenge. Ben Lyons: Yeah, when you mentioned Patricia Field who is such and instruments or part of this franchise. Kim Cattrall: Yes. Ben Lyons: And the amazing wardrobe that she’s created for you guys has become a character in the franchise. What is the system for borrowing clothes, for keeping clothes, for having clothes magically disappear from the set? How much of this stuff are you allowed to keep to yourself? Kim Cattrall: A very few things, I mean most of the things that you’re allowed to keep are gifted by the designer. And some of them you know, you buy because this are very special scene. I was given by Mathew Williamson the dress that Miley and I we’re both photographed in. I thought I rocked it pretty good as well Miley. Ben Lyons: I'm glad you brought up Miley because for our audience of course, she’s a huge deal. Kim Cattrall: Oh, she is a huge deal. Ben Lyons: And how fast did she talk in person, we’re you amazed on how quickly she was able to speak. Kim Cattrall: She was so excited. Ben Lyons: So excited. Kim Cattrall: So excited to be there and to be part of it and she was there for like three hours because she’s a minor and then she like, it was—she just disappeared, she was gone but very sweet and we we’re terrifically happy to have her, especially for that scene.
