Nurse Tonya Battle has been at the center of a lawsuit since she was told she was not allowed to care for a baby because of her race. She had been caring for the baby when the patient's father made the request, not wanting any African Americans to care for his child. The hospital honored that request. With her attorney, Battle made her first television appearance on "Katie" Wednesday to talk about the decision to file lawsuit, saying that she knew this was something she couldn't just let go.
