We visit Julie White at work and drop in on one of her baby product parties.

Julie White: My name is Julie White. My company is trulymadlybaby and we do party plan. So we take out a beautiful range of quality baby products, moms in their homes and we do products from mom's babe like three to five year old toddler time. Yes, I am here. I am here, I am here. My inspiration to set truly madly baby was when I had my little boy Samuel and I had such a wonderful birth. He is a fantastic baby. He knew when to sleep, when to eat etcetera. And he left me time to think about how I could get back into the world in terms of doing something for me. But also spending time as a mom for Samuel, because that was important too. And I thought about party plan because I have done it a long time ago, selling out the products and I looked then to see if there was a company selling whole range of baby products and could not find one. So that was really my inspiration and I started to then build the company from that. When I started trulymadlybaby I wondered, how I was going to really test products before I took them out to my moms. But obviously I have a wonderful son and so what I tend to do is use him as my chief tester. So when I do something new, I always run it by Samuel and if he likes it then I know I want to -- The party I am doing this afternoon and being a daytime party is mom's with their babies. So it will involve me going down to the unit just to make sure I have got some stock to show them. I will select a few products and then I will come back and to the house where the party is going to be held. I will set them up. At least when they come in they are just on a nice display. So people can start think exactly what they are going to experience. And then we will go from there with the usual party meeting. We have a locker as I call it, which is downy Milton kings and that is really about the size of three garages, because when I started the business I actually did most of the storage at home. But obviously as the businesses grew we had to be off home. So we have a lock up bureau we keep the stock. Okay so I am at the unit and one of the things that I need to do today is really just a little stock. Just to check what I need to order and make a few notes and then I will go back up to the office and put my orders in. I also want to just to see if anything to bring for the party, because that would be not if there is some basis stock that people haven't seen. So I will probably put those to side as well. The range of products that I have chosen for trulymadlybaby go right from mom to babe where we do lots of nice pamper products moms and then we go right three to five year old which is sort of what I call trulymadlytoddler. And, the nice thing that I -- raincoats umbrellas. And then in between you have got a lot of gifts. So if you are looking to buy gifts for babies, we do beautiful cuddly toys. We have a huge amount of sleeping bags as well which are the grow bags because we believe that they are the best in the market. And which day for me, Julie White is that I would go into the office. We have an office. I would go in. I would start to look up at my post and obviously check emails etcetera. And an element of my day would be ordering stock. An element of day will also be actually picking orders because we have an online shop. So we get online orders through that, that route. So I would be picking and packing my orders getting those out to the post. Hello Rose, its Julie from trulymadlybaby. Hello how are you. So I have got everything bladed up in the boots and will be meeting up with the moms with their babies because this is an afternoon party. And my myself I actually work still as a consultant as well as doing the other things in the business. So I go on and do parties within the local area for mommies. Okay once I arrive at a lady's house I need to make sure that the kid looks quite presentable. So what I am trying to do is just lie some sort of order. So when ladies come in they can actually see what's what. They are just quite nice to see. In terms of getting their parties and make each of the ladies know about trulymadlybaby there is a network locally of NCT groups local play groups nurseries. We would go to those, make sure we leave a few postcard scarps for moms to pick up. Well, good afternoon ladies, moms thanking very very much for coming to this trulymadlybaby party. And I hope we can have a wonderful time. What I want you to do is show you some products this afternoon that you might not have seen on the high street that's our idea. But also products that I think are amongst the best in the market from a safety point of view for us as moms. Okay so I am going to start by showing you the great bags and I think some of you might already use them. But we have lots of new designs to show you. So I am going to show you one particular new design. Basically particularly well it is called happy times and is in blue, but in the New Year its coming in pink. So it will be for boys and girls. So that's a good news. Well based on day's particular bags, they used to be front for the older sizers in sleeping bags and so I have decided to do a top of -- because it's quite a few months I actually preferred that. So obviously easy access on the shoulders there for you to get baby in and out of the bag. And then also there is actually a zip along the side. the benefit to moms buying at a party in their home in my opinion is that they are actually they haven't got to get baby where they get him in the car , get parked, go to the shops, that can be quite traumatic at times. They can relax in the comfort of their home invite some friends so its social as well. And but also we have a consultant who will present the products. So they start to say the benefits of buying that particular product what that product does, getting the maximum out of them. Now, one of the other products that we sell, huge demand is tankies and if you haven't heard of tuggies this is what they are. Now what they have done is two ladies in America, they decided that babies love labels, okay. So they took a really brightly colored blanket with lots of labels. So move around the edge and called it a tuggy. And now they are multi millionaires. And that's because babies love labels as they quite rightly say. The feedback I had so far from moms that tend to trulymadlybaby party has been fantastic. Not only in the day time if they can bring their babies along as well. Its fantastic social, they can share their mom talk you know usual baby doing this and can your baby do this. That's fantastic as well as look at some lovely products. But in the evening when babies in bed and they are actually being mom that is even better because they can have a couple of glasses of wine. They can really socialize and really relax and is very, very enjoyable to most moms. Okay so now we can talk about shoo shoes. Now shoo shoes are baby shoes from birth up to the largest size is 18 to 24 months. So once baby starts toggling these are good for around the house. Don't really use them outside, because the bottoms are very soft. So they are not so good outside. But shoo shoes I like because I believe again that they are probably one of the best made on the markets. They are made out of balboa, which means that babies face will breathe, okay? That's important. Also they have on this particular design they have an elasticized heal. That means that as babies grows the shoes will expand to incorporate that. So that's good for baby's feet. And they are also endorsed by pediatricians. So that's an good reason to buy shoo shoes. And ladies thank you very much for your time and I am sure you get personal. Hope you enjoyed it. I think the party went very well today and its lovely because the babies are there I think that way mom will always spend a little bit more because babies interested in certain things and the sales was great. This is the most fantastic way to do it, because it really very gently, it means you can go out , socialize with all the moms who are very, very similar to you, have a lot in common with them. And you can sell products that you are passionate about, because you have a baby yourself and at the same time you can earn extra money.
