Axion Dual-Screen Mobile DVD Player Tiffany Young: Hi there and welcome to Neo-Fight.tv, the technology review with two points of view, my name is Tiffany Young. Ben Freedman: And I’m Ben Freedman and today is Tuesday, September 12, month is just flying by. Tiffany Young: It is my goodness. Ben Freedman: I just bought a new car in the last little while, who knows you can probably get the option of having a DVD player. Tiffany Young: Right, of expensive option of having this. Ben Freedman: It is it’s usually a couple of thousand of dollars for the package for the DVD player and the navigation. Tiffany Young: Because you know, you need to get that marked up, the dealer mark up, and the dealer’s dealer mark up. Ben Freedman: The dealer mark up, the delivery mark up— Tiffany Young: Right, so it’s actually like a $300.00 plus the tax title and this for your DVD player. Ben Freedman: Destination charge, don’t forget. Tiffany Young: That’s right. Ben Freedman: So there's a lot of marks up involved in there. Tiffany Young: Right. Ben Freedman: We have a—you can also get those little portable DVD players, they are really nice of course— Tiffany Young: Which are everywhere really. Ben Freedman: They’re everywhere and the only problem with that is of course its you knows if you have two kids, they’re always arguing “I want to hold it”, “no I want to hold it.” So the solution is the product we’re looking at today which is the Axion dual screen dual mobile DVD player which doesn’t look very good in a bag, I’m glad we have it in the bag because I wanted Tiffany to illustrate how light and portable it is. Tiffany Young: Well let me show you how very light and portable, this is the lightest DVD system kit that I’ve carried, its very compact. Ben Freedman: So in fact what I like about this before you even take it out, what I really like about this is the idea that if you’re going on vacation, somewhere where you’re maybe renting a car. You can take this with you to use in the car, what the heck is it? Tiffany Young: Or you know at home like you and the kids go to bed and they watch videos or something, you’re just trying to do like a timeout or whatever. You can use that on the bedrooms look how little it is. Ben Freedman: So what do you have here is you have a central DVD player, so this is just a DVD player with no screen at all, its just the player and the DVD goes in there and then this comes with these two screens. Two screens here and as you know the screens have this straps on the back and this go around the headrest in your car. A couple of nice things about this you know is the screen, I don’t know if you can see this but the screen will tilt, so if you’re headrest isn’t quite at the right angle, you can tip this down and it basically you run wires out of back of this puppy to each one of this under here. Each one of your kids can watch and it’s the same picture on both comes from the DVD but that way you know some DVD players you know. If its in the middle and one kids on one side and one kids on the other side, they don’t get—because it’s LCD screens don’t always look the best if you look from an angle. Tiffany Young: You know $200.00 folks for this remember back in the day, remember last year when you were like 700. Ben Freedman: I know I can't imagine how much these have come down in price. It also will do mp3 and stuff. Tiffany Young: It’s like pretty sturdy like if you drop it a couple of times it should be all right. Ben Freedman: Right, now the problem is of course people ask well what if you’re kids want to watch something different, what if the kids want to watch something different. Tiffany Young: You use either your iPod or another standard DVD player or— Ben Freedman: That’s right because these screens will work by themselves. Yes, if you take a look in the bottom here, there is an input on the screen and you figure out how then—or video game. Let’s say you bring your X-box or something you know— Tiffany Young: Anything—right, anything that’s a stand alone, I mean anything that goes into these ports really complain this, you know as long as there’s the video output right. Ben Freedman: Right and there are two headphones jacks on the bottom of this one, I think this one too so you plug up to four headphones, so I guess if you’ve got like a really big bench seat and you have four kids back there, they can all watch it. So you’ve got two kids covered, here’s my question, you’ve got two kids covered and you’ve got four kids covered, what happens if you have three kids? What happens to the kid in the middle? Tiffany Young: Then you know you know that if you have three kids, somebody is always on time out or in trouble right? I mean somebody is always in trouble when you have three kids. Ben Freedman: If you have three kids, one of them is always in time out. Tiffany Young: So now that third child cannot watch either one of this because of course they’re in trouble. Ben Freedman: Right, I think its fantastic system for the price. Tiffany Young: Yes, its only $200.00, you really can't beat it. Ben Freedman: You can't beat it and you can take it with you, stick in your luggage if you’re going on a vacation, it works pretty well. Tiffany Young: I agree, I agree, I think it’s a pretty good product. Ben Freedman: I agree, in fact the only downside is that there are—can be a bunch of wires. Tiffany Young: Okay, aren’t this strapped in anyway, well my kids are strapped in, my child. Ben Freedman: My kids, I don’t know about your kids but older daughter can now reach the back of her chair with her foot, so she can grab—if there are wires hanging down there, she’s feeling in a bad mood, she reach that. Tiffany Young: What if she’s in time out, you could do a kid rotation then? Ben Freedman: I don’t have three kids I only have two. Tiffany Young: You have two and I have one. Ben Freedman: So individual power buttons here— Tiffany Young: I’m sorry what was that, we’ll talk about it in five minutes, so yes it’s a good product. Ben Freedman: It’s a great product, in fact, I think for the price, I mean it’s not perfect but for the price I can't find nothing more, I give this product a five out of five. Tiffany Young: Well, gosh, I was going to disagree but I can't really disagree on this part so I guess it’s a five out of five for me too. I mean I just can't find anything for $200.00 that’s not worth— Ben Freedman: No, I mean it’s not a Banging Olsen or Bozz or anything like that but its $200.00. Tiffany Young: It’s a good price for what you get, especially with this out form I mean this is what really gave me the five out of five here because it’s giving you the options. Ben Freedman: That’s five out of five for Tiffany, five out of five from me, ten out of ten! Perfect score. Tiffany Young: I think we’ve only done that once before. Ben Freedman: I think this is our only second ten in six months. For the Axion dual screen mobile DVD player, something that I know my kids would enjoy and yours too.
