Alec Baldwin on the Summer Doc Series Female: Hanging out with Alec Baldwin at the Guild Hall talking about the Summer Doc Series. Tell me about this event and what it brings to the Hampton that wasn’t here before. Alec Baldwin: Well the film festival was in the fall, it’s in October and we wanted to do some screenings and we’ve raised the awareness for the festival because it’s seasoned in the off season so we do one in the winter time that we did this year. We all kind of just started and thought like we’d be doing this forever. And then the last time that we sort of this series where we shot three documentaries, one in late June or early July. And then one of them you know, late July and then one around Labor Day Weekend. It was a very successive even though this venue was relatively small, you have now a lot of seats. We saw that every screening was very popular. It was enormous and popular. Female: Well speaking of small venues you did just finish their series of being on stage with Equus. How is that performing local theater here in the Hampton? Alec Baldwin: It was great, it was really a great experience. We’re glad we did it even though we weren’t quite sure that’s what people wanted to see out here in the summer. I was a little tough, it’s a very tough drama but we’re very glad we did it and I think it really kind of got the ball rolling for them. Well I hope that they do a really important production every summer. Female: You do spend a lot of time giving back to small communities, organizations and non-profit -- Alec Baldwin: This is not a small community. I don’t know if it’s so small anymore but. Female: Why, you could spend your time doing so many things. Why do you get so involved with things going on down here in the Hampton? Alec Baldwin: Well it’s a combination of things that I like, you know it’s not like I’m digging trenches out there in the hot sun. The thing is that we do cultural things, film series, the play -- it’s all of the stuff I enjoyed them so I don’t -- I really view it as work. I get a lot out of it too.
