The holiday parties had begun so don’t go to that cocktail party or your bosses holiday party empty handed. Bring my spice fruit chips in cute sustainable gift packaging. They’re fun, festive and party goers will be green with envy and they’re supper quick. All you have to do is take an apple and slice it really thinly in a mandolin about a 60th of an inch. So, this is the fuji, you could use the gala, rome whichever kind of apples really work for you as long as they’re good baking apple. Put them down on a baking sheet, line with some parchment paper or if you have those silicon baking mat, this is the perfect time to use them. And then you top them with a simple spiced sugar. To make that spice sugar, you just combined some sugar about three tablespoons worth with some ground nutmeg and ground ginger. It’s going to be about a ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg and an 1/8 of teaspoon of ground ginger and just mix it on that. And if you like something else herb the spices, go ahead and use that. Ground cloves will be good, cinnamon whatever works for you; go ahead and sprinkle this on top, it will help get things crisp and really absolutely delicious tasting. They go into a 200-degree oven for just a couple of hours until they’re ground around the edges. You want them to be totally dry and cool them down on the baking sheet so that they’re completely crisp and chip like. Into the oven they go and after two hours this is what they’re going to look like, absolutely beautiful, nice and crisp. Now, if you’re giving away as a gift why not give a great gift container. Use this some great sustainable green packaging if you will. Just go ahead and put them on in there in about one baking sheet work is good for one of your gift recipients. And of course save a couple for yourself because they’re absolutely tasty and irresistible. Get the last ones in here just close it on that and there you have it. Holiday gift giving has never been so simple.
