Rhiannon Ally: The foursome is back. They're ready to take on Manhattan and the Middle East. But if you missed the big opening night of Sex and the City 2, don’t worry. Rachel sat down with Sarah Jessica Parker to get the scoop on the sequel. [Movie Clip] Rachel Smith: You look gorgeous girl, as usual. Sarah Jessica Parker: Thank you. It’s nice of you. Thank you. Rachel Smith: Thank you so much for giving us the second adventure. Sarah Jessica Parker: Oh God thanks for allowing us the opportunity. We’re thrilled to do it and it was an amazing, amazing experience and I hope the audience can experience some of the joy and excitement of this particular journey. Rachel Smith: Oh they absolutely will. I think it’s a perfect—of the first one. The first one was so heavy, everyone has a hard time. Sarah Jessica Parker: Yes. Rachel Smith: This one was just an absolute party. Sarah Jessica Parker: Oh good, well we wanted this to be an antidote to the first one and I think there was a lot about the first one that was really fun but I think it was necessary to tell that story then. Rachel Smith: Yeah. Sarah Jessica Parker: And these times call for romp and a caper and to be transported elsewhere and you know we’ve worked very hard to make it enjoyable but at the same time have some interesting themes to talk about for all of the women in the movie. Rachel Smith: Absolutely and I love that Adam is back because I mean I love Mr. Big but I love Adam too so I like putting him on his spot a little bit. You know you were only—was worried about Big but he worried about her for a while. Sarah Jessica Parker: I think it’s great. It’s so interesting to see people’s point of view, you know, some people that they wanted to shake Carrie and say, “What are you doing in other women and men who’ve said it’s so great that she had this moment.” And ran into them and got to explore— Rachel Smith: I love that, yeah. Sarah Jessica Parker: And frankly just to be on the set with John Corbett again and work with him again, I just think he is so special and it’s such a great thing for an actor to get to work with Corbett and then come home and work with Chris Nott and it’s really having a cake and eating it. Rachel Smith: Is there a lucky girl? You had so much star power in this movie. I mean Liza and Miley Cyrus. Sarah Jessica Parker: And Penelope Cruz. Rachel Smith: Oh I know she looked fantastic. Sarah Jessica Parker: I know. I'm such a huge fan of her work. I mean I am a huge, huge fan of her so to me it was such a treat to have her amongst the likes of us. Rachel Smith: It was fun? Sarah Jessica Parker: It was such an honor and Miley came in and was so amazing and so professional and Liza was such a freaking thoroughbred. For three days she just pounded that out and she’s just amazing and it was—you know it was just this whole movie, while yes it was really hard work, it really was a privilege. Rachel Smith: And you know the message of Sex and the City has always been I think so empowering for women because it’s about four females who support each other and not competitive. So there’s a kind of anger you and all these—come out about, cat fighting on the set or— Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah. Rachel Smith: Does that— Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah I mean first of all one should actually have been witness to the alleged cat fight but also I think it just—it really does a great—deserve us to the kind of friendship that we have forged, the reliance and the necessity that we feel about one another and I wouldn’t come back time after time nor would Kristin, Kim or Cynthia if this was not an incredibly special place to be working and I think it’s a real shame that people have characterized the way they have. But it doesn’t affect the experience we’ve had or the memories or this extraordinary and unique time in our lives. Rachel Smith: It only has to do with girls, they don’t say this about men. It’s such a stereotype. Sarah Jessica Parker: They never talk about The Sopranos. Rachel Smith: I know, exactly. Well they thought they would be like—
