The boy says he ran away from home because his parents forced him to live in a 6-foot by 8-foot box. ABC News has the disturbing story. “A box that the boy said his father would lock him in. His stepmother would write words on his skin ... The box found by police - inside? socks, a blanket, and a book called “The Lost Boy.” According to the affidavit the allegations don’t stop there. KYTX reports the boy’s father is also being accused of possible sex crimes. “Police ... accused the boy's father of using his cell phone to take a picture of the naked boy and of threatening to post the photograph to a social media website, the affidavit states.” The boy told police his stepmother wrote the words “liar” and “thief” on him before taking the photo. During a search of the house police seized shackles, drug paraphernalia, and cell phones. The Houston Chronicle has a statement from Child Protective Services, which says it acted promptly. “We got the call once the police found him and took him back home and discovered his living conditions ... We took emergency custody that same day." Police have not announced any formal charges and will remain in foster care for now.
