Debuting in 2007, the Lincoln MKX five-passenger crossover is born from the Ford Edge and powered by a 3.5 liter V6, 6-speed auto and available all-wheel drive. Gas mileage of the front drive model is 16 mpg city and 24 highway. Now on its third model year, the MKX received some small enhancements for ’09. In the electronics realm, the sync system has been upgraded to act more like GM’s OnStar. Utilizing the driver’s cell phone, sync will automatically place a 911 call in the case of an airbag deployment. Sync also provides vehicle health reports now via email. And borrowing the latest navigation tricks from the MKS sedan, the MKX offers serious travel link with real time traffic and weather data, including gas prices, sports scores and movie listings. It also includes the THX 2 audio system. Outside, the MKX limited offers a chrome grill and 20-inch wheels. Also new, the ultimate package features 18-inch, 8-spoke chrome clad wheels, adaptive lighting, the new ambient interior lighting feature, easy-fold second row remote seat release, premium leather trimmed seating and a below floor cargo management system. A front drive Lincoln MKX starts at about $38,000.00 while an all-wheel drive starts at over $40,000.00 and a fully loaded model sells for close to $50,000.00. For Drive Time on Yahoo!
