Robbie Rogers, Major League Soccer’s first openly gay player, was expected to take part in his first game with the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday night. The 26-year-old winger was introduced to the media a day earlier as the newest member of the Galaxy. In February, Rogers revealed he was gay in a blog post, and simultaneously quit soccer. “I kept my secret because I thought I couldn’t be both a soccer player and a gay athlete,” Rogers said.
