Lindsay Caldwell: Hi everyone! Lindsay Caldwell here at the 17th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala where were going to be bringing you the scoop from the stars who are walking the orange carpet to raise awareness for research for this disease. It’s the 17th Annual Anniversary of Race to Erase MS. Nancy Davis: It’s Erase MS. We’ve been doing this for quite a while. It started Aspen as a ski race and it’s been here for quite a while. When we started it, there was no known cause, no cure, no drugs on the market to help solve the progression MS. What’s so exciting now is there are six drugs with FDA approval, two on the horizon, many different remedies for the different symptoms that people have and just so much hope. Lindsay Caldwell: Do you guys have a target number to hit this year like every year you have a goal of how much to race? Nancy Davis: We would love to make around $2 million. We’ll see what happens. A lot of it depends on the option item as well. We have amazing auction item. So, we will see at the end of the night. Tom Arnold: I’m on the board of directors of this, so I have a special interest in Nancy Davis who started it as one of my best friends. So, I just want it to go well. I want to raise a lot of money. We actually got Tony for Dancing of the Stars. He’s—for one night or a dance lesson. I can't wait to watch but we going to raise a bunch of money. Times you’re tough but it’s great because we raise the money, we give to eight different hospitals, eight different geniuses and they share all their information, not like regular big medical corporations, they share it, so to get a cure faster and we’ll help people. Every year, we come up with two or three drugs accidentally then help people in other areas too. So, within five years we won’t do this anymore, it will cure this and Parkinson’s and all that other stuff and then get to male pattern baldness which is a big problem in my house. Paris Hilton: For this event, we made t-shirts and jewelries that we all designed and that to be sold in 100% of the profits go to the Research for MS, so it’s a great cause and they’re sold on Kitson.com Lindsay Caldwell: You’re a frequent visitor of Kitson too, right? Paris Hilton: I love Kitson. That’s one of my favorite store. Jennifer Taylor: I really like Nancy’s Center Without Walls where they’re really, really trying to find a cure and it’s not about just one doctor or one school or one team trying to find a cure. They’re all working together and sharing information and I think that’s good. Debbie Gibson: Nancy is fabulous and reached out to me this past year and she really is a pioneer and started this quest to find a cure when their really was very little information like 17 years ago. And I have friends who are not in their 20s and 30s that have MS and this obviously brings awareness. Megyn Price: This is the first event I’ve done for them and I just did a little research on the charity and I really love how quickly the funds go from donation to research. Nancy Wilson: We’re going to sing fours songs. We’re going to do Barracuda. We’re going to do Alone and a new song which is the titled from our new album Red Velvet Car and then Crazy on You. David Faustino: I come here because I’m friends of the Nancy Davis family and because they’ve been doing a lot to raise money for first of all a cure and second of all, to help alleviate and keep at bay and help alleviate some of the suffering of MS. Male: —and this is the scoop from Hollyscoop. Lindsay Caldwell: And that’s the scoop from Hollyscoop.
